أعلنت الجمعية المصرية لأمراض الكلى ارتفاع نسبة الإصابة بالفشل الكلوى المزمن بين الأطفال إلى 15%، من مجموع مرضى الفشل الكلوى فى مصر الذين وصولوا طبقا لآخر إحصائية إلى 40 ألف مصرى مصاب بأمراض الكلى"
و كشفت دراسة جامعية أن 100 ألف يصابون بالسرطان سنوياً في مصر بسبب تلوث المياه، وأن أكثر من 35 ألفاً يصابون بالفشل الكلوي، بينهم أكثر من 17 ألف طفل يعانون من أعراض مزمنة.

Spread The Awareness, Spread The Hope - اكسري الصمت... انشري الأمل
اكسري الصمت , أنشري الأمل هي مبادرة للتوعية بسرطان الثدي.. تقام في عدة جامعات مصرية احتفالا بشهر أكتوبر المعروف دوليا بأنه شهر التوعية بسرطان الثدي في العالم .
لماذا التوعية بـسرطان الثدي؟
لان سرطان الثدي من اوائل أسباب وفيات السيدات في مصر, والغالبية العظمى من وفيات السيدات من السرطانات في مصر تكون بسبب سرطان الثدي.
ولأن الكشف المبكر يعطي خيارات أفضل في العلاج, وفرص أفضل للشفاء, فمن الثابت علميا ان معدل النجاه من المرض عند اكتشافه في المرحلة الاولى أكثر من 90 % , بينما ينخفض هذا المعدل بشدة ليصبح 12 % عند اكتشافه في المرحلة الرابعة .
تقيم المبادرة عدة حملات في الجامعات المصرية الاتية :

the IFMSA-Egypt Breast Health Awareness Initiative;" Spread The Awareness, Spread The Hope"
Breast Cancer is one of the emerging leading causes of death among females in Egypt. The vast majority of women dying of Cancer in Egypt “37 %”, die of Breast Cancer (Egyptian National Cancer Institute, 2008).
For many years there has been a complete silence about it, and resistance to talk about the issue, and that helped the disease to get wild and break not only the woman herself, but the entire family that she’s the glue of.
Statistics show that in Egypt the overall rates of the disease is less than the international rates, but the mortality rates are higher, and that’s due to late diagnosis, wrong believes, and lack of awareness. And that is what we’re planning to help change through this project.
So, it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we invite you to IFMSA-Egypt Breast Health Awareness Initiative in the Egyptian Universities, October 2011; "Spread the Awareness, Spread the Hope Initiative" .

world diabetes day campaign
سوف تقوم الجمعية العلمية بطب المنوفية بالاحتفال باليوم العالمى للسكر وذلك فى اطار احتفال منظمة الصحة العالمية بهذا المرض فى 14 نوفمبر من كل عام
Why is the World Diabetes Day important?
WHO estimates that more than 220 million people worldwide have diabetes. This number is likely to more than double by 2030 without intervention. Almost 80% of diabetes deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.
In many cases, the illness can be prevented!
Why November 14?
World Diabetes Day is celebrated on 14 November to mark the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, was instrumental in the discovery of insulin in 1922, a life-saving treatment for diabetes patients.
Why a blue circle as logo?
The blue circle signifies the unity of the global diabetes community in response to the diabetes pandemic.

Global Handwashing Day (GHD) was created by the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing in 2008 to:
• Foster and support a global culture of handwashing with soap.
• Shine a spotlight on the state of handwashing in every country.
• Raise awareness about the benefits of handwashing with soap.
Global Handwashing Day was originally created for children and schools, but can be celebrated by anyone promoting handwashing with soap.
Each year, over 200 million people are involved in celebrations in over 100 countries around the world. Global Handwashing is endorsed by a wide array of governments, international institutions, civil society organizations, NGOs, private companies, and individuals.
