The Governorate Geography:
Triangle-like Governorate, situated in the middle of the River Nile Delta between the 2 branches of the River Nile - Rashid and Demietta -, its head in the south and its base in the north. It expands to the west of Rashid branch where the Sadat city is located. It is lies on 2 main roads connecting Cairo & Alexandria– The Desert Road to the west & the Agricultural Road to the east of the governorate.

2554 KM

The population:
3 million (in 2001)
(The population of the rural areas represents 80%).
The Capital:
Shebin El- Koom, 72 Km north to Cairo.
Governorate Day:
13 th of June annually.
Menoufia's slogan consists of:

- The pigeon tower which Denshway Village is famous for.
- The Two ears which stand for agriculture , fertility , and development.
- The Flame which stands for the farmer s' revolution at Denshway Village against the Imperialism soldiers who set fire to the wheat threshing floor at Denshway village in 1906.
- The gear which stands for the existence of industry in Menoufiya Governorate.
How to Reach?

Menoufiya has neither airports nor ports, so, it's preferable to make your destination: Cairo International Airport. Then you can take the bus or pick a taxi to Ramsis square from where you can either take a train to Quesna from the Railway station then a taxi to Shebin El-Koom or take an air-conditioned bus to Shebin El-Koom directly from the other side of the Railway "Ahmed Helmy square" beside the Fire Station. |

Weather & clothing:
In summer: fair to hot, temperature ranges between 29- 30 degrees C, 20-30 % humidity , you can wear light cotton clothes.
In winter: Cold to fair, rainy, foggy only in morning, temperature ranges between 8- 20 degrees C, you can wear heavy wool clothes.
